Critical Care

We are board certified in Critical Care Medicine and provide critical care services in conjunction with Doylestown
Health. We provide services in the medical intensive care unit (ICU), cardiovascular intensive care unit (CVICU), and for long term care ventilator patients in the Intermediate Unit (IMU). We utilize a multidisciplinary team in a systems-based approach to daily rounds in the ICU with a large care team that includes respiratory therapists, critical care nursing, dieticians, case management, nursing administration, and clinical pharmacists. We adhere to the latest guidelines and standard of care practices as recommend by the Society of Critical Care Medicine, American Thoracic Society and CHEST physicians. We also incorporate Medical Decision-Making, Goals of Care discussions and End of Life Care. Areas of Interest include:
In light of current COVID-19 worldwide pandemic, we also strive to maintain knowledge on current recommendations, treatment and long-term care options for patients affected by the illness. In conjunction with Doylestown Health, we are leading the treatment protocols with the Doylestown Hospitalist Team in our joined effort to provide the best care against COVID-19. |
BCMA is involved with clinical trials at Doylestown hospital with agents that might quell the cytokine storm in severe Covid-19 infection and trials with the use of antibodies to help mild to moderate outpatient Covid-19 infected patients. We continuously strive to provide state of the art up to date diagnostics and therapeutics for our community.
